World Class Chicago

Michigan AvenueWhere better to prepare urban teachers, school specialists, researchers, counselors, psychologists and leaders than Chicago—one of the most exciting educational arenas in the United States. As a learning laboratory, Chicago immerses Loyola students in a rich array of cultures and challenges.

Loyola's School of Education (SOE) maintains strong partnerships with the Chicago Public Schools (the third largest school district in the country) and the Chicago Archdiocese Schools to provide extensive opportunities for clinical experiences and research. Through fieldwork, internships and research, our faculty and students contribute to the progress of urban and Catholic education.

Both as learners and as residents, Loyola education students are enriched by the many dynamic aspects of our city: its ethnic and cultural diversity, its prominent role in commerce and business, and its politics, culture and geography. Loyola's School of Education continues to be closely linked to Chicago; together, they offer important opportunities for practice and study to prepare well-qualified education professionals.
