Research Symposium
The Student Development Committee of the School of Education hosts the school's annual Research Symposium. This symposium allows undergraduate and graduate students to showcase what they have learned through their research experiences, while also providing an opportunity for faculty and students in the School of Education community to discuss current research topics in education.

Research Formats:
- Empirical Studies: research ends are based on evidence and not just theory. An empirical study can be quantitative or qualitative
- Review of literature around a specific topic
- Action Research Paper/Project led by individuals working with others in teams or as part of a "community of practice" to improve the way they address issues and solve problems
- Research Teams - Who you are, what you've done, and where you want to go
- Review of Literature that both summarizes and explains the complete and current state of knowledge on a limited topic
Presentation Formats:

Paper Session: provides an individual author(s) with an opportunity to present an abbreviated version of his/her own research prepared for a course, seminar, directed study, thesis, or dissertation

Poster Session: combines the graphic display of materials with the opportunity for discussion

Professional Development Workshop: topics on evidence-based best practices in education
