Loyola University Museum of Art Continues “Lunch at LUMA”
Theology Professor Discusses the Origin of Easter
What:
The next installment of the Loyola University Museum of Art’s “Lunch at LUMA” series is Wednesday, April 20, starting at 11 a.m. The focus of the discussion is the Christian celebration of Easter, led by Loyola theology professor Dr. Andrew Radde-Gallwitz. Saint Paul's association of Christ with the Passover victim suggests that, in its origins, the Christian celebration, which we call Easter, is linked to the springtime Jewish holiday of Passover. Dr. Radde-Gallwitz will trace the history of the Easter festival, as well as Lent, Holy Week, and Pentecost, from Jewish roots to the joyous annual season of Resurrection.
