Care for the Whole Person

Dear First-Year Student,

Welcome to Loyola University Chicago! On behalf of the First-Year Ministry Team, I want to welcome you and invite you to become part of our community through retreats, immersions and other programs. In collaboration with our friends at Residence Life & the Wellness Center, we are dedicated to the personal and wholistic care of every student.

Please use this site to explore all that we have to offer to enrich your faith life and community experience on campus. I invite you to find ways to get involved with First Year Ministry! Among the opportunities available to you through Ministry are the Explore! Retreat and The Thursday Night Thing. Your very own Loyola Companions are waiting to meet you and welcome you to Loyola.

We hope that at LUC you will find faith, community and friendship.

 I'm Looking For...

Campus Ministry invites students of all religious traditions and spiritual backgrounds to call Loyola home, and seeks to provide opportunities that will enrich your faith.

Catholic Life and Worship Spaces

Loyola is committed to providing opportunities for Catholic students to grow in their faith on Campus. Students can attend a daily mass, grow with the guidance of a spiritual director or join the Catholic Student Organization.

Protestant Ministry
Rooted in Protestant heritage, students can worship together, participate in service, or join in fellowship opportunities and retreats.

Hillel at Loyola
Hillel is an active Jewish group on campus providing the opportunity for Jewish students to meet one another, exchange ideas and be active participants of the Loyola community.

Muslim Student Association
The Muslim Student Association facilitates various events and programs, including a Fast-A-Thon and an Islam Awareness Week. MSA also offers lectures and discussions on faith, and hosts a variety of other opportunities on campus.

Hindu Student Organization

The Hindu Students' Organization serves Hindu students, looking to practice their Hindu Faith and expand their knowledge about the Hindu religion.

Students Seeking

Loyola offers other ways to nurture spiritual growth. Loyola holds weekly Taizé prayer services in the Madonna della Strada chapel. Students can also seek guidance from a spiritual director, or join a small prayer group.

Leadership Opportunities
Students are invited to join one of Campus Ministry's many Loyola Companion teams. Loyola Companions are peer ministers whose mission is to build community on our campus through leadership in faith and service.
