While Abroad
Calling
It is best to have your student contact you whenever appropriate. Students may lease cell phones in the USA before leaving for Rome or during the initial weekend orientation in Rome prior to the start of each semester when your son or daughter will have an opportunity to talk to vendors from cell phone companies. Students can also purchase phone cards at the Rome Center. Each residence wing has phones that can be used with calling cards.
If you would like to call Rome from the United States, dial 011.39.06.355.881. This number connects with the central switchboard 24 hours a day. If the hall extension desired is known, it may be dialed directly by dropping the final "1" from the number above and replacing it with the three-digit extension.
Writing
If you would like to send a letter to your daughter or son, mail it to:

For information about mailing packages, see the student handbook.
Visiting
You and your student should discuss visiting him/her abroad before his/her departure for Rome. Our recommendation is that you visit after the program has ended and before the student returns home. This way, your trip will be best enjoyed without any added pressures your student may face in school. Another option would be to visit over the fall break or spring break if you know that your son or daughter will not be participating in the organized trip. For information about places to stay in the city center of Rome or for places near the Rome Center, please review a list of guest accommodations.
