SCPS Department Scholarships

There are various department scholarship opportunities available thanks to the gifts and donations of various supporters and the alumni of Loyola University Chicago.

Application Process

Applicants should submit

  • A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be on file at the time of application.  To apply or learn more about filing a FAFSA, see the Office of Financial Assistance.
  • A completed application.   Only one application needs to be submitted to be considered for any department scholarship.  Each applicant will be evaluated for each award's criteria; there is no need to submit multiple applications.
  • An original essay describing why you chose to resume your studies and how earning your degree/certificate will assist you in reaching your personal/career goals.  The essay must be a minimum of 300-350 words, double-spaced, typed.  If you are applying to renew a previously received scholarship, please indicate any updates or achievements you deem relevant.
  • Submit your application and essay to the School of Continuing and Professional Studies Scholarship Committee, Lewis Towers, 401, 820 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL  60611. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on the date of deadline.
  • Application Deadlines: Fall 2011 - August 1; Spring 2012 - December 1
