 WOWW Group Training I
10 CEUs - Fall 2011

Partcipants will learn the basics of Solution-Focused Theory/WOWW (Working on What Works)  in schoools and practice having solution-focused conversations with teachers and their classes. Partcipants will introduce the WOWW classroom ocahing in at least one classroom in their school. Participants will have at least ten sessions in the classroom.
 
At the end of this class, participants will be able to:

- Identify at least three main techniques or strategies of solution focused theory.
- Identify and discuss the three phases of the WOWW program.
- Apply and dicsuss the use the scaling and rubrics in WOWW program.
- Identify and discuss techniques to build positive relationships with teachers.
- Set and evaluate goals effectively.

To join this program, partcipants are required to have the approval of their school prinicpal and one teacher willing to be trained in this approach.

 Solution-Focused Techniques in School-Based Practice
16 CEUs - October 2011 - May 2012

This class is for professionals who  wish to deepen thier understanding of solution-focused theory. Participants will have the opportunity to dicuss their own cases and practice using these techniques. This class can be taken for one or two semesters.

Participants will:

- Watch and discuss videos of the "masters" including Insoo Kim Berg and Steven De Shazer, who demonstrate the techniques of complimenting, looking for exceptions, and "miracle questioning"
- Learn to write solution-focused goals and monitor them with scaling.
- Become more proficient in adapting soluition-focused ideas into your practice with individuals and groups.
- Adapt solution-focused ideas into their school system in accordance with RTI.
