About

This program recognizes that an individual's beliefs, world views and values are key components in the healing and treatment process. The M.S.W./M.Div. dual degree is offered jointly with the following schools: Loyola University Chicago Institute of Pastoral Studies, McCormick Theological Seminary, and the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Catholic Theological Union.

Program length depends on the Divinity program you are enrolled in.
 
Application Information
Applicants to this dual degree program apply to begin every Fall.  Applicants for the dual M.S.W./M.Div. degree at Loyola should apply for admission to the programs using one application, indicating their intent to pursue the dual degree in Social Work and Divinity.  Applicants for the M.S.W./M.Div. at a different institution should apply to the two programs separately. 
 
 
Degree Requirements
The MSW program requires completion of 60 credit hours which includes two internships.  The 1st internship is 480 hours and the 2nd internship is 720 hours for a total of 1200 internship hours.
 
Curriculum
The MSW program is broken down into foundation level classes and advanced practice classes.  Foundation level courses are required by everyone.  Advanced Practice classes are taken according to specialization area and electives.
