Retreat and Ecology Campus Courses
Study nature. In nature.
As a special addition to the regular Summer Session curriculum, the courses listed below will be taught entirely at Loyola's Retreat and Ecology Campus for Summer Session 2012.
Classes vary by date and duration; see the complete list below. If you intend for your course selection to satisfy a Core requirement, a course prerequisite, or a major requirement, you are asked to confirm this with your academic advisor. Please note that all regular registration rules and restrictions apply, as well as all customary expectations in the Bursar's Office regarding the payment of tuition and fees.
Individual classes listed below may have a specific list of equipment or supplies that students will be required to purchase in advance of the class. Please check with the individual departments. You may also e-mail us at summer-sessions@luc.edu.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Registration: Because the Ecology and Retreat Campus offers immersion classes, please note that enrollment is restricted to one course during this session.
Class days and times: Our summer classes meet Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Students will spend a portion of the designated time in class, out in the field, attending events, and on field trips.
Housing: Students will live on campus while attending summer courses. Students will have access to newly renovated rooms, a refurbished student lounge, computer labs, and lab spaces. In addition, Loyola will offer WIFI in public spaces. Residents will also enjoy gourmet meals at a reduced cost.
Activities: Staff members are currently developing an activity calendar for students. The schedule will include academic and social activities; from bonfires on campus to trips into the Woodstock downtown area.
Enrolled students will receive updated information at least one week prior to the start of class.
