Meet with an Advisor
If you haven't done so already, meet with an advisor to discuss your course of study and determine courses for registration. Appointments can be made by calling 312.915.6501 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Learn about Scholarships, Financing & Payment Options
To apply for federal grants and loans, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once submitted, the Office of Student Financial Assistance will contact you with the next steps. To apply for university-based scholarships, you must submit the FAFSA. Be sure to explore the many scholarship opportunities available to SCPS students!
Payment plans, including those that will compliment your employer’s tuition reimbursement plan, can be arranged through the Office of the Bursar.
Register for Classes
Register for classes using LOCUS (Loyola's Online Connection to University Resources). You will access LOCUS using your Universal ID and password (UVID). Your UVID and temporary password will be emailed to shortly after your admission.
Access Your Loyola e-Mail Account
Loyola uses email as an official method of communication, and you are expected to respond and communicate through your Loyola e-mail account. Important information regarding your program and university announcements is sent to this account. Information on managing your account, including how to re-route your Loyola e-mail account to your personal e-mail account, can be found at http://www.luc.edu/its/email.shtml.
Get Your Loyola Campus Card (ID Card)
Once you have registered for classes, visit the Campus Card office to get your ID. Learn about the Campus Card office location and hours on their website. You need your Campus Card to access several buildings on the Water Tower Campus, as well as to use the university libraries and computer labs, to board the University shuttle, and to attend some University events.
Sign-up for Loyola Alert
Loyola Alert is a special communication service meant to provide personalized, time-sensitive alerts to students, faculty, and in the event of unforeseen events or potentially life-threatening emergencies. Find further information and a registration link at luc.edu/alert.

Log-in to Sakai Before Classes Begin
Sakai is the university’s online learning management system and serves as a collaborative platform for faculty, staff, and students to interact and support teaching and learning activities. This is where you will find important announcements about your courses as well as syllabi, assignments, etc.
Arrange for Transportation & Parking
Validated parking opportunities for various parking lots near the Water Tower Campus are available. Visit the Campus Safety’s Parking web site at http://www.luc.edu/parking for more information. The Water Tower Campus is also accessible via numerous Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) buses and trains. To learn more about using the CTA, visit www.transitchicago.com or call 1-888-YOURCTA.

Visit http://libraries.luc.edu or call 312.915.6622 for information on library locations, hours, services, and tours. Tours and explanations of library resources can be arranged. Don’t forget to bring your ID for your visit!
