Veterans Educational Benefits

Loyola University Chicago participates in all applicable federal programs for veterans, servicepersons and their dependents.

We encourage all persons that are potentially eligible for these benefits to apply. However, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) or other agency, as appropriate, makes the final determination of eligibility. You must be a degree seeking student (matriculated into an approved degree or certificate program) in order to receive these education benefits. For more information on veteran's educational benefits, click here.

Note: Loyola University Chicago does not participate in the Illinois Veterans Grant Program (IVG), Illinois National Guard Grant Program (ING), or the Illinois MIA/POW Scholarship Program. These programs are only available at Illinois public institutions

Yellow Ribbon Program

Loyola University Chicago participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a voluntary agreement with the VA for schools to assist with tuition funding. In order to be considered for the Yellow Ribbon Program, you must meet the following criteria:

Once your eligibility has been determined, the will electronically send your Certification of Enrollment (VA Form 22-1999b) to the Department of Veteran Affairs no sooner than 10 days before the start of the term. The VA will then process the enrollment certification in approximately 2-8 weeks. You will receive an e-mail to notify you that your enrollment information has been sent to the VA.  For more information on the Yellow Ribbon Program and the post 9/11 GI Bill, please visit the Yellow Ribbon Program.

ACE/NPONSI (National Program on Noncollegiate Sponsored Instruction)

The American Council on Education (ACE) has evaluated many non-collegiate learning experiences and training programs, including military experiences, that are sponsored by major companies and institutions. For students to receive credit for these programs, the learning experience must have occurred during a time period and class length as determined by ACE. Loyola follows ACE recommendations in awarding credits toward the bachelor's degree.
