How Long Will It Take?

The BA in Information Technology requires 120 credits, but most adult students have some past college credit or are eligible for experience-based credit that can be applied to that requirement. Some things to consider:

  • Have you completed an associate's degree or certificate from a community college or another institution?
  • Have you taken any college-level courses but not completed a degree?
  • Have you gone through a formal training program through your employer or the military?
  • Have you taken a proficiency examination through CLEP?

If the answer is "yes" to any of these, you may be able to transfer up to 64 semester hours (or 96 quarter hours) to Loyola and reduce the length of your program.

On average, Loyola SCPS students transfer in 40-45 credits. By taking two classes per session for five sessions in a year, the program will take about 2.5 to 3 years to complete.
