Description

This course provides an overview of the development and operations of the US criminal justice system. Attention will be focused on law enforcement, judicial organization, and correctional processes. The course will also consider the nature and extent of crime and will survey main theories of criminal behavior. Outcomes: Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the structure and challenges facing the criminal justice system from historical, interdisciplinary, and inter-agency relationship perspectives.
