Students and Faculty
Help improve academics while keeping Loyola accessible
Student Academics
From a mixture of campus and city life to the meeting of faith and science, the programs, academics, and resources we offer our students are the ultimate measure of our success: it may be a gift of scholarship to ensure students from all walks of life have access to a Loyola education; or it may be an incentive toward our numerous programs and initiatives that stretch our students to learn and grow; or it may be to improve the physical environment in which our students and faculty learn. Whatever the gift, our partners can be sure that their funds are put to good use. Scholarships, fellowships, immersion opportunities, and study abroad programs all enhance the student experience at Loyola.
Scholarship Support
There is a critical need for Loyola to increase our scholarship endowment so that we may continue to attract exceptional students from all walks of life. Bringing together students from varied ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds is as critical to our success as ensuring that Loyola is accessible to those who can benefit most from an education here. A gift to support scholarship can mean the difference in one student’s life while helping to lower the overall cost of tuition for all students.
Career/Internship Support
Education happens in many places outside the classroom—in laboratories, in libraries—even in offices in and around the city. Loyola is uniquely poised to offer nearly limitless internship and immersion opportunities to its students. Greater resources will mean greater opportunities for students from every school and college.
Global Opportunities
Loyola believes that an education can take place by experiencing a foreign culture. The John Felice Rome Center, the Beijing Center for Chinese Studies, and the Ricci Scholars Program are giving students global, real-world experiences. Our study-abroad programs feature classes on pertinent global issues and structured travel and immersion programs. Loyola University Chicago requests support to continue and expand these opportunities.
Faculty Initiatives
At Loyola, we realize that teaching, research, and innovation are crucial to maintaining and developing a strong academic reputation. An investment in our faculty is an investment in the long-term academic excellence of Loyola.
Named Chairs and Professorships
Endowed chairs and professorships help us attract and retain the finest faculty scholars in each discipline. An endowed chair supports not only a faculty member’s salary, but also provides resources for research, travel, and intense study in the scholar’s field. Endowed chairs and professorships are reserved for those with the highest level of academic success and potential. An investment in an endowed chair is an investment in Loyola’s academic enterprise.
Research Opportunities
As a university dedicated to a high level of research, Loyola’s faculty and students engage in serious academic research in areas as diverse as social work and physics, or medicine and law. Our award-winning faculty engage in research that translates to wide-reaching issues and needs—from the nutrient composition of streams to cardiovascular biology. Your support of research means a brighter future for us all.
