About AA&S

The Office of Academic Advising and Services offers academic guidance and support to all students, regardless of their scholastic levels or abilities. Each department within Academic Advising and Services provides students with a different group of services:

Academic Advising

Advisors in Academic Advising counsel first-year and non-transfer sophomore students about:

  • Scheduling courses
  • Exploring and selecting majors
  • Fulfilling major, minor and Core requirements
  • Connecting with other university offices
  • Transferring AP or IB credit to Loyola

First-year and non-transfer sophomore students should schedule an appointment or visit during walk-in hours to speak to an academic advisor.

Other undergraduate students should review More Advising Resources to find the advising services appropriate for them.

Learning Assistance Services

Learning Assistance Services (LAS) offers workshops, specialized courses and individual meetings with learning specialists for students who wish to improve their study and test-taking skills. All Loyola students may take advantage of services offered by LAS.

Services for Students with Disabilities

Students may register with Services for Student with Disabilities (SSWD) to receive academic and housing accommodations for their disabilities. To qualify for accommodations, a student must provide appropriate documentation from a health-care professional.

Tutoring Center

At the Tutoring Center, knowledgeable upper-class and graduate students provide individual and group tutoring sessions for students who find a particular class or subject matter challenging. Contact the Tutoring Center to learn if assistance is offered in a course you're taking this semester.
