Tony George (BS '06) has entered first year studies at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV.
Adam Kohlrus (BS '06) will teach AIDS awareness as a Peace Corps volunteer in Swaziland, Africa for the next two and a half years.

Tracy Peters (BS '06) is currently working in Washington, DC, doing neuropsychological testing at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Peters is a recipient of the Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA), which provides opportunities for recent college graduates to spend a year engaged in biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Trainees work side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world in an environment devoted exclusively to biomedical research.
Eileen Batterberry (BA '02) received a grant to travel for a month to Japan, Thailand, and Laos.
Ellen Kucia (BA '02) lives in Japan and joined Eileen in traveling to northern Thailand and Laos.
Michael Jarecki (BA '01) graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2004, and recently opened his own practice focusing on immigration law.
Ritesh Shah (BS, BA '01) received an MD degree from the University of Chicago. He is completing his residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Orthopedic Surgery.
Jason Pyrz (BA '00) graduated from Loyola Law School - Los Angeles in May 2006. Jason and his wife Susan (Susan Hudzik, BBA '00) live in Orange County, California with their 6-year-old pug, Bingley.

Joy Sparks Bunville (BA '97) is one of 23 women who contributed short stories about their experiences as stay-at-home moms for the popular book, Bye-Bye Boardroom: Confessions from a New Breed of Stay-at-Home Moms.
Marcus Melnick (BS '95, MA '98) recently introduced the innovative "Tactical Daddy," (www.tacticaldaddy.com) a vest featuring 16 specialized pockets sized for bottles, wipes, diapers, and other necessities that all dads need when out with their children. On June 15, 2006, Marcus's wife Heather gave birth to their second son, Eli Brant.
Edward Varga (BA '91) recently became a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin, and in September, became the president of the McHenry County Board of Health. When not working, Varga spends time with his eight-year-old son, James, in his home in Richmond, Illinois.
Jose Damian Ortiz (BS '90), professor of law, has been elected to John Marshall Law School's Executive Committee.
Tracy L. Harding Brown (BA '87, MSHR '99) was recently promoted to Regional Human Resources Manager for AIG-VALIC.
Dr. Alfredo Tiu (BA '86) was recently named one of the "Top Doctors in the Field of Nephrology" by the San Diego County Medical Society.
Jeff Mulac (BS '81, DENT '85) and Kathy Mulac (BA '81) received the George Ireland Award for outstanding support of Loyola University Chicago Athletics at the Rambler Golf Outing at Cog Hill on August 3.
Cecily Dickinson Haeger (BS '67) and John D. Haeger (BA '63, MA '64, PhD '68), are celebrating 37 years of marriage. In June, their daughter, Margaret, received a law degree from the University of Nebraska.
Hugh LeVoy (BS '67, MEd '76) recently finished writing his memoir, Chicago Kid: From Whence I Came, about growing up in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. One of the scenes from the memoir has been excerpted by Rosebud Magazine for its Issue #36.
Weldon Rougeau (BS '67) has joined the government-affairs practice of Arent Fox in Washington, DC as counsel. Formerly, he was president of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation.
James R. Samec (BS '63, MA '69) moved to Sweden in 1968. While in Sweden, he received a degree in psychotherapy and a magister degree from Stockholm's University and the Carolingian Medical Institute. Samec is a licensed psychotherapist with a private practice in Stockholm. He and his wife, Lotta, celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary in January 2005.
Ralph J. Amelio (BS '61, MA '64) presented "When War Comes the First Casualty is Truth: Controversy and Censorship of War Photographs, World War I, Viet Nam, and Gulf Wars I and II" for the 2006 Chicago Humanities Festival's Summer Institute for Teachers. He also presented "Modern American Journalism: Facing Human Conflict" at DePaul University's Humanities Center in June 2006.
Robert Langran (BS '56) recently began his 48th year of teaching political science at Villanova University, making him the senior member of the faculty. His co-authored book, Government, Business, and the American Economy, was published this summer.
Charles R. Winkler (BS '57), Circuit Court of Cook County Judge, is assigned to the Domestic Relations Division and is chair of the ISBA Bar Publications Board, as well as a member of the Illinois Bar Journal Editorial Board. His book, The Gringo's Guide to Acapulco, is in its third edition and is available from Trafford Publishing at www.trafford.com. One dollar from the sale of each copy is donated to the American Legion Post 4 in Acapulco, which makes a substantial contribution to three local orphanages.
