Loyola Undergraduates Attend Model United Nations Conference
Each spring semester, the Department of Political Science offers a course centered on the United Nations (U.N.). The course offers an in-depth analysis of the inner workings of the U.N. and an understanding of the international negotiations that unfold in the U.N. setting.

Model U.N. students at the United Nations Headquarters in New York
In March, the Loyola University Chicago Model U.N. team participated in the National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference in New York, NY. Twenty-one Loyola students participated in NMUN, joining almost 4,000 students from more than 30 countries. The Loyola delegation represented Japan in 15 simulated United Nations committees. A conference highlight was a private briefing at the Japanese Mission to the U.N. with Ambassador Jiro Kodero, one of Japan's senior diplomats at the United Nations.
Loyola's delegation was pleased to bring home multiple awards this year, including an overall "Honorable Mention" for the group representing Japan, as well as "Best Delegation" awards in two committees. CAS senior Kathy Delgado and SBA sophomore George McGraw won awards as partners in the International Hydrological Programme, and CAS senior Joey Mak was honored for his work in the ASEAN Regional Forum.
