Welcome to Advance Directive, the online component to Annals. An advance directive is a legal document indicating an individual's preferences for future health care. Similarly, the mission of Advance Directive is to create a forum to address current issues as well as future directions within the complex field of health law.

The first issue of Advance Directive focuses on Science, Technology, and the Law to complement our Fall 2008 Symposium that explored the increasingly important intersection between patents, access to health care, and innovation.

The second issue focuses on the theme of law and public health, where we delve into a wide range of topics from health care reform proposals to disputes surrounding such issues as vaccinations, medical marijuana, and access to medical and mental health treatment.
