Clare Tolmie, MA, RPA is a graduate student in the PhD program of the Department of Anthropology, University of Iowa. (She also works as a CRM archaeologist). Her research focuses on the incorporation of bone and antler working technology into early Upper Palaeolithic subsistence strategies. Clare has participated in and directed fieldwork in England, France and the United States. Her broader research interests include environmental archaeology, and hunter-gatherer subsistence strategies and life ways; Archaic settlement patterns in northern Illinois and early Historic landscape organization in the Midwest.
