AP Statistics Workshop

July 12-16, 2010

This workshop, designed for new AP Statistics teachers, will provide an overview of the topics included in the AP Statistics syllabus including the broad conceptual themes: Exploring Data, Sampling and Experimentation, Anticipating Patterns and Statistical Inference. In addition, both workshops will include curriculum design, in-class activities, simulations on the TI-83+, text selection, AP examination expectations, grading, and information regarding the College Board audit. This will be a hands-on workshop. Participants should bring a TI83/84 calculator. Maximum capacity 25.  (Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:15 pm and Friday, 8:30 am -1:00 pm)

Mathematics / Curriculum & Instruction University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Advanced Placement Consultant (Calculus and Statistics); AP Statistics Reader (10 years); taught AP Calculus (12 years) and AP Statistics (4 years) at Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha, NE; AP Calculus and AP Statistics instructor at Norris High School in Firth, NE (3 years); currently AP Calculus and AP Statistics teacher at Southwest High School in Lincoln, NE (4 years). Chris has presented numerous one-day workshops and week-long Institutes across the Midwest.
