Avanti!

Message from the director

Dear Alumni, Family, and Friends,

Since the Rome Center opened its doors in 1962, the center has remained true to the values of its visionary founder, John Felice. For more than half a century, we have been opening the eyes, hearts, and minds of our students to a global perspective grounded in the heart of an Italian city with a history as rich as the people and cultures represented in Rome.

For more than half a century, we have been transforming lives.

Recently, we successfully concluded Phase I—Insieme per il futuro—of our 10-year comprehensive plan to transform the JFRC and realize the dream of John Felice: to create the permanent home of the Rome Center. Now, we proudly launch Phase II of that plan, Avanti!, and build on the far-reaching support of alumni and friends who care deeply about the center’s growth and capacity to educate its students.

Through Avanti!, we will complete the physical transformation of the campus that began with Insieme. The work to update and renovate existing spaces, beautify the campus, and build new structures is all aimed at addressing the needs of the whole student—mind, body and spirit—and providing our students with a world-class study-abroad experience.

I invite you to be a special part of this transformation and am grateful for your ongoing interest and support of the Rome Center.

With appreciation,

Emilio Iodice
