John F. Grant, M.D., Endowment

This endowment was given to encourage undergraduates in their study of health-care ethics. It currently supports several programs that may be of interest to bioethics minors, including:

    • Scholarships (usually two) to undergraduates interested in health-care ethics. In the fall, application materials are available from the philosophy department.
    • Prize money for an essay competition (held in the spring semesters).
    • Support for special speakers brought in for the John F. Grant, M.D., Symposium on Health-Care Ethics (usually taught as PHIL 398: Seminar in Contemporary Philosophy).
