"The Bridge to Loyola program was one of the best things that could have happened to me. I had no idea what to expect out of college and was extremely nervous and scared. Bridge to Loyola helped build my confidence by showing me exactly what to expect and preparing me for my freshman year. You learn so much in just three weeks. You also meet an amazing group of people and a great staff. Bridge will help your transition into college be a smooth one. I had a great time, and as a peer mentor of the new class, I can’t wait to help and show you guys how truly amazing Loyola is. I hope you guys are in store for a great time!!"

"Bridge to Loyola was the best thing that could have happened to me. Before I began the program, I could only imagine the studying, tests, work and effort I was going to have to put in during my last few weeks of summer before college. What I found was that I was going to develop skills that would help me for a lifetime. I now feel lucky compared to other incoming freshman because I knew the campus well before they did and I had already made friends, many of whom shared the same classes with me during my freshman year. Most importantly, I developed the necessary study skills to succeed at Loyola University. I am very thankful I had the Bridge to Loyola experience and I’m sure you will be too!"

"As the culmination of my freshman year at Loyola approaches, I look back on my journey and I realize the impact the Bridge program has had on my college career. When I first entered the program, I was young, nervous, and completely unsure about what lay ahead of me. It took overcoming many trials and tribulations to get me through those three weeks and to where I am now. The most valuable things I took away from the program are confidence in myself as a college student, an array of valuable skills and study habits, and a place in a new community of other Bridge ot Loyola students as well as staff members. In carrying these aspects closely with me throughout my first year, I have been extremely successful and grateful for this experience. As a peer mentor for the 2012-2013 students, I am excited to have a part in their transition to becoming successful Loyola students and in their discovery for the same love I have for this program."

"If I could explain my experience with the Bridge to Loyola program at Loyola University Chicago, I would be speechless. This program helped me meet my community and faculty members before school even started. I received college credit and I got a feel for what a typical class would be like at a university. The best part of the program was that I had such an easy transition to Loyola and I met so many friends that I am very close to now. Let’s just say the Bridge to Loyola program pretty much ROCKS!"

"The bridge program did much more for me than solidify my conditional acceptance into Loyola. I learned monumental life values from the program. Most of all, I learned how to learn. The professors helped me uncover that I am an exceptionally slow learner, and that total comprehension of academic material does not come without daily rehearsal of the material. In this, I learned that I could indeed earn A’s as a result of the work I put into the classes during this program. Of course, I never would have been pushed to do the work as vigorously as I did without the professors and advisors (and the pressure of making it into the college of my choice!). To this day I love sharing the great experience I had through the program, and am forever grateful for the skills I’ve accumulated and continue to apply."
