Legal Practice Areas

While some students enter law school with a clear idea of what type of law they are interested in, others begin their legal career with no plan regarding what type of lawyer they want to become. There is a huge range of legal careers in varied work environments to pick from, and the best way to learn what a career in a specific area entails is to network with an attorney practicing in the field that you are interested in.

The information below is designed to give you an overview of a variety of legal practice areas, including information on the various subsets of each category. Use this information as a starting point, and don't be afraid to network with Loyola alums and other practicing attorneys.
