Susan Wortman is a career advisor for the School of Nursing, Institute for Environmental Sustainability, and those whose field of interest is related to the Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences. Susan works with students and alumni to help define and explore career interests as well as resources for job and internship preparation. Her role also includes building relationships with faculty and community partners to better understand the career resources and challenges students face today. Prior to joining the CDC, Susan was a Visiting Research Specialist for UIC’s Learning Sciences Research Institute where she studied embedded assessments in Chicago Public Schools' mathematics curricula. She also worked as an educator for two nonprofit environmental education programs in Chicago. Susan earned a MEd in college student development and counseling from DePaul University and a BA in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor adventures, ultimate frisbee, and the challenge of learning how to overhaul a bike.
Susan has completed the following Loyola University Chicago staff/faculty trainings: Safe Space (LGBTQI), I'm Here For You (Survivors of Domestic Violence).
