Professional Experience:
Lead Literacy Coordinator 1998- Current: Chicago Board of Education, Chicago, ILDescription of duties: Currently I work with Kindergarten through fifth Grade teachers in observing, coaching, and implementing changes in their reading programs.
Research Interests:
How Democracy is taught in post-Soviet Schools. How education is used as a political tool in reeducating citizens. Currently, I am focusing my research on educational reform in Armenia since its independence in 1991 from the Soviet Union.Publications and Presentations:

Armenia 2006 & 2005: Conducted pre- PhD research. Taught a three week summer school program. Conducted Language classes for adults and worked at a camp with disabled children. Attended professional development sessions held by the Armenian Ministry of Education.
Armenia, 2002: Participated with the Land and Culture Organization in rebuilding a school in Datev.
Mexico, 2000: Playa Del Carmen: Participated in an intensive summer language program.
Venice, Italy, 1991 & 1992: Participated in a adult Armenian language studies program.
