Loyola University Chicago

Coordinated Community Response Team

About Us

Loyola University Chicago's Community Coalition on Gender-Based Violence is a team of faculty, staff, students, and community partners devoted to creating a campus free of gender-based violence while empowering survivors. The responsibility of the Coalition is to promote consistent messaging around norms and resources, ensure university policies and procedures reflect current best practices and legislation, and support campus-wide programs and initiatives.

Aligning with our Jesuit values, our work will be guided and informed by our beliefs and commitment to:

  • Inclusiveness:  anyone can experience gender-based violence and everyone is impacted.
  • Intersectionality: gender-based violence can only truly be eradicated when all forms of oppression are dismantled and everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
  • A Comprehensive Approach: addressing gender-based violence must include awareness raising, prevention, and response strategies.
  • Supporting Survivors: survivors are never to blame for their assault or abuse and deserve access to a multitude of resources.
