Mark Pollock is an associate professor of Communication. Among the undergraduate courses he has taught at Loyola are rhetorical criticism, rhetoric of the Cold War and War on Terror, and argumentation and advocacy.

He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University and received the National Communication Association's Outstanding Dissertation Award. He taught at Temple University until coming to Loyola in 1992. In 1998 he was the recipient of the Mundelein College Outstanding Teacher Award.

He has published scholarly work on contemporary American political rhetoric, on service learning, and on communication and social justice. He also is editor and contributing author of Communication Processes: Language, Reality, Identity.
