International Association of Business Communicators

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)/Loyola Student Chapter started at Loyola in the early 1980s as the third student chapter formed in the United States. Today, the IABC/Loyola Student Chapter remains a student-led organization for aspiring professionals who want to learn more about the variety of communication-related career fields.

Participating in the chapter helps to bridge classroom instruction with experience in the field through such opportunities as:

  • Attending meetings with interested students and faculty, and learning from professional speakers;
  • Participating in Day With A Pro, which enables students to learn practical skills by spending time with porfessionals in the field;
  • Using the IABC/Chicago Member Directory to connect with professionals and discover resources to complete class projects; and
  • Getting involved in Communication Careers Week, held at Loyola every year, in late March.Interested students are welcome to join the IABC/Loyola Student Chapter anytime.

For more information, please call 312.915.6268; or contact the chapter's faculty advisor, Dr. Kay Felkins: 312.915.6577
