Business Spotlight: Three New Eateries Join Water Tower Campus Community

Loyola Neighborhood News: Water Tower Campus - V3, I1

At the Water Tower Campus, the Loyola community is privileged to boast of three new dining options to contribute to an already diverse list of local eateries.

Chick-fil-A, is not only the first of the three restaurants to open this summer, but is the first Chick-fil-A in the city of Chicago.  Upon its open, the restaurant set a high standard by setting several records in its first week! Most notable was their record of serving the largest number of customers on an opening day in Chick-fil-A history with over 10,000 served. Fortunately for many Loyola students, faculty, and staff, Chick-fil-A is no more that an elevator ride or a walk across the street away. Its attractive and convenient location is on the first floor of the 25 E. Pearson Corboy Law Center provides the perfect opportunity for a meal when traveling to and from the Chicago Avenue CTA station, work or class.

Another of the new establishments include Chill Bar and Grill, which began an aggressive campaign to connect with the community by offering discounts and a place for to not only socialize, but to utilize as a venue for parties and events. Chill Bar and Grill is also conveniently located across the street from 1 E. Pearson, McGuire Hall at 829 N. State Street.  Einstein’s Brothers, the third restaurant to open this summer, moved from their previous location on the Gold Coast into 111 E. Pearson, Lewis Towers. They have experienced a successful opening as well. The addition of a coffee and bagel shop serves to be a healthy balance with their next door neighbor, Argo tea, to provide the Water Tower Campus with the entire spectrum of hot beverages.

These new tenants will be managed by Loyola Property Management (LPM), the second student run business under the umbrella organization Loyola Limited, Loyola University Chicago’s undergraduate student run and managed business enterprises.  Founded on July 1, LPM currently manages and maintains a portfolio of over 25 retail and residential tenants, which generate over $2.2 million in annual revenue for their sole client, Loyola University Chicago. Other LPM duties include acting as a broker for the University, when it leases space to prospective tenants.
