Take Part, Speak Up, and Make Action: Transportation Survey

Loyola Neighborhood News: Water Tower Campus - V3, I2

As part of the University’s ongoing commitment to wellness, employee satisfaction, and sustainability, Loyola is embarking on a Commute Options Program, in conjunction with the Chicago Climate Action Plan, the Civic Consulting Alliance, and the Metropolitan Planning Council.

The Commute Options Program is a pilot program launching with several employers in the Chicago area, and the goal is to encourage employees to drive less and use other modes of transportation, such as public transit, ridesharing, and walking or cycling when commuting to and from work.

To ensure the University best meets the needs of its faculty and staff, the Transportation Task Force Committee, distributed a transportation survey to all WTC and LSC staff and faculty.  The survey will play an important role in shaping a pilot program.

By participating in the survey, Loyola joins other large employers in the Chicago region in an effort to investigate vehicle-commuting behaviors and existing transportation options that impact travel time and air quality.  Additionally, the survey results will allow Loyola to improve its existing transportation options on campus.
