Alternative Break Immersion Companion
Student leaders will lead a group of students on a local, national or international immersion trip during spring or summer break. Companions are expected to attend training meetings and will be responsible for conducting interviews, researching information about the trip destination, building community amongst participants, facilitating pre-trip meetings and group reflection on the trip. Companions should have participated on a previous ABI trip. The companion shares the responsibility of driving a university van across the country or through nearby states, coordinate follow-up activities, and perform some logistical work. Those considering leading an ABI trip should understand the guiding principles of the ABI program and be committed to developing relationships of solidarity with an ABI host community. Contact Patrick Eccles at 773.508.2205 for more information.
Search Retreat Companion
The Search retreat is a Christ-centered model for students to explore their faith and deepen their knowledge of self, God, and others. We are looking for dedicated leaders who have experienced a Search retreat at Loyola and are willing to build community and share their experience with others. If you are interested in being a retreat leader for one of the Search retreats contact Matt "Jake" Jacobson at 773.508.2202.
Leadership on the Labre team involves a deep commitment to issues of homelessness and the dignity of the human person. The mission of Labre is the formation of relationships with the homeless focusing on solidarity, rather than charity; placing emphasis on the relationships rather than on the act of providing food. A Labre companion should be interested in the ministry of hospitality and have significant experience participating in the weekly Labre service. Leaders are expected to serve 4-5 hours a week (including the direct service at the WTC and leader training meetings). While leaders are not required to live at the WTC, it is preferred. Contact Nicole Chmela at 312.915.6467 for more information.

CLC Companions can work in teams, or facilitate the group independently. For more information, contact Matt "Jake" Jacobson at 773.508.2202
