Eligibility & Scholarship Information
DEGREE PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility for both CPELL programs (English Teaching & Learning M.Ed. with English as a Second Language (ESL) certification OR the ESL certification only) can be found on the School of Education Application Requirements pages. In addition to the requirements listed, letters of recommendation for CPELL scholar applicants should include one from a building administrator and ideally one from the district office.
All CPELL cohort students must be currently employed in one of the five district partner schools.

Currently CPELL scholarships are funded through the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of English Language Acquisition. Eligible candidates from the five partner districts (Aptakisic-Tripp 102, Fairview 73, Skokie 68, the Office of Catholic Schools, and North Shore 112) receive up to a 50% tuition award towards the required courses to receive an M.Ed. in English Language Teaching & Learning or the English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement.
