Gerald E. Nora is an Instructor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology. For twelve years he was Executive Assistant for Policy for the Cook County State's Attorney. A trial attorney in private practice, he has had extensive experience in litigation and has served on numerous government commissions and committees. Recently he worked on the Department of Justice's Global Intelligence Working Group and the Illinois Capital Punishment Reform and Long Term Prisoner Study Committees. He has helped develop national and state privacy guidelines for integrated criminal justice data systems. He was the Advisor to the ABA Task Force that drafted the pending fourth edition of the ABA National Prosecution and Defense Function Standards. Mr. Nora earned a BA (Philosophy) and JD from Georgetown University and an MLA from University of Chicago.
