Dr. Läufer studied physics as an undergraduate at Universität Konstanz in Germany and at Rutgers University, then received his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the Courant Institute of New York University. He joined Loyola's faculty in 1992. Dr. Läufer's research interests include programming languages; software architecture, components, frameworks, and design patterns; concurrent and distributed systems; mobile and embedded computing; human-computer interaction; and educational technology.
