Dr. Wampler earned his PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics at the University of Washington. He has been a professional software developer since then, currently at DRW Trading in Chicago.  He is also the co-author of "Programming Scala" (O'Reilly, 2009). His research interests include programming languages and paradigms, data analytics, and software development methodologies.
