AP Chemistry Workshop
July 8-12, 2013
The 2013 AP Chemistry Workshop is filled and we are no longer adding names to our waitlist.
This workshop, designed for new and experienced AP© Chemistry teachers, will model an AP chemistry curriculum in which participants will be introduced to both the hands-on and theoretical aspects of, kinetics, acid-base chemistry and thermodynamics and molecular structure and interactions. Each day, participants will perform several lab activities that reinforce the topics. Participants will be asked to write up and evaluate the labs as well as complete and share solutions to AP© problems, both requiring evening homework.
Time will also be devoted to College Board’s A.P.© Chemistry Curriculum changes to go into effect on the 2014 Test, including changes in the laboratory component. Patsy Mueller, the instructor, will have completed the College Board’s “Re-train the Trainers” short course before this workshop begins. Throughout the workshop, there will be opportunities for all to share best practices for teaching AP© Chemistry. All work to be assessed will be completed during the workshop.
Maximum capacity 24. (Monday - Thursday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm and Friday, 8:30 am -12:00 noon)
