Xiaoyan Fan


Xiaoyan Fan came to the U.S. five years ago. She received her Bachelor's degree in Burmese Language and Culture in Beijing, China. She graduated from Santa Clara University, California in 2004 with a Master's degree in Counseling. Xiaoyan started to work in the Center in September 2005 as soon as she started her doctoral study at Loyola University Chicago. She works with Dr. Steven Brown and Dr. Rachel Shefner on the program evaluation of the SEPUP implementation projects and our middle school science project. Xiaoyan is currently a third year doctoral student in Counseling Psychology. Her research interests include acculturation, intergenerational conflict in Asian families, and racial identity development in Asian Americans.
