Corporate Practice Certificate in Paralegal Studies
Loyola’s Institute for Paralegal Studies announces a new program offering—the Corporate Practice Certificate in Paralegal Studies—at the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens in Vernon Hills, Ill.
This focuses on areas of law that are important in the transaction of business—contracts, commercial transactions, due diligence, compliance, business entities, securities regulation, and intellectual property. Dealing with e-discovery and litigation will also be included. Lake County and northern Cook County are home to numerous corporate headquarters.
The Corporate Practice Certificate is intended for students who already have bachelor’s degrees. Students attend the 12 required courses as a cohort group for six 8-week sessions. Two courses will be offered each session, starting in Oct. 2012 and finishing in December 2013.
Classes will meet primarily at the Cuneo Mansion & Gardens on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. Two of the 12 courses will be taught in computer classrooms at the University Center of Lake County in Grayslake.
An open house is planned at Cuneo for Thursday, Sept. 27. The Director will schedule admissions interviews at this location too. Applications are due by Oct. 12.
The Institute for Paralegal Studies has been approved by the American Bar Association for over two decades. The program offers a Certificate in Paralegal Studies with concentrations in civil litigation, corporate/commercial transactions, and corporate/real estate at its downtown Water Tower Campus. The new Corporate Practice Certificate option has been approved by the ABA.
