A three-day conference held on July 23-25, 2006 brought together veterans of the Movement, historians, educators, students, community leaders, the present generation of activists and protagonists of non-violent social change. The conference included plenary sessions with prominent speakers from the Freedom Movement and their current counterparts and smaller, specialized sessions.
