    Overview:

In 1999 The Early Childhood Network (ECN) was formed, in part, to connect childcare providers in Rogers Park, Edgewater, and Uptown, as well as childcare users to the resources of the community.  To achieve this goal, ECN created the "Community Asset Map & Resource Appendix" or "CAMERA".  This publication lists and maps the resources of the Rogers Park, Uptown, and Edgewater community areas.

Since the last edition of the guide in 2004, ECN has expanded its network to include members in the Albany Park, West Ridge, North Park, and Lincoln Square community areas.  ECN is currently collaborating with Center for Urban Research and Learning (CURL) at Loyola University Chicago to update the guide and include resources in these new communities.  The outcome of the project will be to create an updated and expanded 2008 edition of CAMERA as well as an internet database for continual updating of the resources.
