Overview:
As a CURL Community Fellow, Marrice Coverson developed a youth-based literacy program to foster the love of reading and creative writing.
Outcome:
CURL supported a graduate student from the School of Education to assist Ms. Coverson in refining the Open Book curriculum; Open Book received funding and began operating in two South Side public schools. In 1999-2000, Open Book expanded to six schools.
