Major: Psychology

Research Project: Chicago Freedom School

What attracted me to CURL: I was attracted to CURL because it allows fellows and staff the opportunity to address the needs of the community, and involves the community on all levels of research. CURL is a very valuable research experience because it allows me to apply my interests and skills, as well as advocate for social change.

What I hope to gain from CURL: Being that my major is psychology, I have spent the majority of my undergraduate career studying the individual. CURL has helped me enhance my knowledge of the community as a whole. I believe that it is essential to have both knowledge of the individual and knowledge of the community in order to fully understand how either of them function in greater society. I know that as I begin my second year with CURL, I will continue to learn about the community, as well as develop as a researcher.
