Allison Berry, Senior
Here is how Allison exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to her nomination:
Allison is a superb student, always receiving excellent grades, and also is able to find significant amounts of time to devote to helping others. But even more important, from the perspective of this award, Allison is a real model for her fellow students. She has a way of sharing her gifts that is very inspiring and transformative. She possesses all sort of personal qualities of character and intelligence, but she does not hold on to these as if they were private property but uses them as gifts to be shared. She is a Magis Scholar, leader for the Alternative Break Immersion Program, and a volunteer at the Kovler Treatment Center for Victims of Torture. Allison participated and excelled in the "Casa Program" that combines LUC students with students from Santa Clara University for a semester in El Salvador. She also served on Collegiate Fourth, is a key figure in Hunger Week each year, a key leader in the Christian Life Communities project on campus, a key leader of the School of Americas teach-in, a Loyola companion, and a leader in the "Big Brothers, Big Sisters" Program.
