Angela Bullaro

Angela Bullaro, Senior

Here is how Angela exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to her nomination:

Angie has demonstrated her leadership in the Loyola community by starting an extremely important group here on campus, the Sexual Assault Awareness Group, which aims to prevent rape from occurring to LUC students as well as to increase awareness of sexual assault in the community. I met Angie this fall at the “Can I Kiss You?” presentation hosted by Student Activities. I mentioned a desire in starting up a sexual assault group and Angie immediately found me at the end of the presentation to tell me that she had the same goal. Angie stood by her word and initiated the efforts and drive behind the first student organization to help combat the problem of sexual assault at Loyola. In less than 5 months, Angela recruited members, established official organization status, raised $1,200 for the group, and applied for and received over $10,000 for the first ever Sexual Assault Awareness week.  She is in communication with public safety, community organizations, and university administration to address campus and community safety and other concerns. She is also a graduating senior and is setting up this organization so that it will succeed without her leadership by fostering good relationships with campus departments and grooming younger members.
