Here is how Alpha Kappa Psi exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to their nomination:
Alpha Kappa Psi, Gamma Iota Chapter, is an exemplary organization on the Loyola University Chicago Campus. We participated at Loyola's Relay for Life. Our chapter has also received four awards for the 2005 - 2006 academic year and among them the most Outstanding Chapter in the Midwest Region and the Award of Achievement for increasing chapter memberships by 25%. We Alpha Kappa Psi, Gamma Iota Chapter, pride ourselves on being outstanding leaders and members of the Loyola community. Alpha Kappa Psi is an organization that engages in community service. We believe in helping and educating each other and those around us. We work with the Chicago Food Depository, Aids Care, Make a Wish Foundation, Relay for Life, the Human Society, Rodgers Park Soup Kitchen, along with other service organizations. We believe that helping those around you help develop you into a well-rounded and developed person. Not only do we believe in helping the community we also believe in maintaining at least a 3.0 average while attending Loyola. Many of our members have made the Dean's List this last academic year and are also members of DAC and honor societies at Loyola. AKP is most deserving of this award.
