Joe Kolar
Joe Kolar, Senior
Here is how Joe exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to his nomination:
Joe Kolar is a true embodiment of Loyola spirit. He is well known across campus as a leader, a community builder, a Rambler and a person for others. Joe is a visible sign of the best of Loyola in many capacities across campus. In his role as a companion, Joe has continually built community in our first-year residence halls. Joe is a leading member of the subcommittee for liturgies and our mass attendance in the residence halls has tripled this year. Joe was a leader in First Year service day, showing our first year students how to build community, have fun and serve the community in one fun afternoon. He is a man of deep faith who lives that faith through action. In addition to being a companion, Joe has served as an orientation leader, an explore retreat leader, and a search leader. Each of these opportunities allowed Joe to embrace more deeply our Jesuit ideals of knowledge in the service of humanity and a faith that does justice. Joe has embraced his educational opportunities here while reflecting on who he is meant to be and how he is called to serve his communities. Joe is most deserving of this award.
