Karnell Black, Junior

Here is how Karnell exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to his nomination:

Karnell has represented our university through Loyola Companions, Student Ambassadors, the Safety Net Coalition, and various other services through Campus Ministry. As a team coordinator for Companions and an executive board member for Student Ambassadors, Karnell strives to establish mentorship roles with various underclassmen on campus. He is incredibly mature, empathetic, and ambitious. He strengthens our community through his constant outreach and kind nature. He is truly a person for others.  Karnell focuses heavily on developing the community on campus. He is committed to service work and he volunteers his time every day toward strengthening our campus environment. Karnell has also done work with Evoke and the Agape House. He has carried out the Jesuit ideals by strengthening his personal beliefs through a commitment to others. He acts selflessly and passionately and I believe that he should be recognized for the many ways that he has impacted life at Loyola.  Karnell is most deserving of this award.
