Here is how Loyola Companions exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to their nomination:

The Loyola Companions is a group of cohesive students who give themselves effortless. They are a valued group at this university. They have a strong sense of self and community. They thoroughly understand the values of giving back while at the same time sharing their gifts and talents unconditionally. This is evident in their participation and dedication to all the tasks they undertake. The students who make up this group spend countless hours leading 1st year students to the soup kitchen, welcoming students to the university, providing students with an outlet of fun, and providing them with an opportunity to help themselves emotionally, physically and spiritually. The Loyola Companions are highly respected for their commitment and consistency in performing tasks whether it’s on floors talking with freshmen or planning monthly programs. Their accomplishments are numerous and their intellectual acumen coupled with their love for people and community makes them an asset in any setting. Although the Loyola Companions hold this leadership position on campus they don’t consider themselves leaders but people who want to make a contribution to society through helping young people understand and find their calling and passion. Loyola Companions are most deserving of this award.
