Lydia Wylie-Kellermann

Lydia Wylie-Kellermann, Junior

Here is how Lydia exemplifies the Jesuit ideals according to her nomination:

Lydia is deeply connected to Magis, Campus Ministry, and Food Not Bombs. In particular, her work with Food Not Bombs stands out this year. She has worked with other students on this campus to distribute free food to those in need in the Rogers Park community, working initially by asking for donations and finding good food which was going to waste in places around the community, and eventually negotiating a deal with Aramark to distribute unused food. For Lydia, faith and service are deeply connected. She has stretched herself in multiple ways to not only challenge herself personally but also to connect with others in service. In particular, Lydia has a deep passion for social justice, and embodies the Jesuit ideals of faith, service, community, justice, and peace in all of the work that she takes on. She inspires and challenges others to live a life devoted to faith and justice, and she serves as a model for a member of a Jesuit family.  Lydia is most deserving of this award.
